Samuel Kupka

Head of SW Development

Mr. Samuel Kupka is a software engineer and received his Masters degree from Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice, majoring in computer science. Mr. Kupka has more than 20 years of experience developing computer software and complex systems. Many systems that he worked on are still being used daily by thousands of people in Europe and United States of America.

In the early part of his career Samuel focused on network security, distributed and parallel systems and safety systems. During his time at Erasmus university as exchange student he worked on porting molecular dynamics simulation onto graphics cards. This was a pioneer work, years before the widespread use of graphics cards in general computing, which resulted in a short paper published in 2006 that has been widely cited.

Of late, Samuel has started to focus more on distributed systems and safety critical systems. This resulted in work on telemetry systems with Mr. Gallo, including distributed payment systems and systems for intelligent buildings and wireless identification systems. During this time, he also spent his time teaching several courses at his local university.

Mr. Kupka is an experienced C/C++ programmer with a deep understanding of databases, distributed and parallel systems, computer networks, operating systems and hardware.

José Arturo Lozano Angulo

Head of Research & Development

Mr. José Lozano is a multidisciplinary engineer with more than 17 years of experience in research and development in the academic and industrial fields.

José has two master’s degrees from renowned universities in Mexico (La Salle University) and Denmark (The Technical University of Denmark), respectively. His technical fields of knowledge encompass acoustics, intelligent computing, software development, electronics and robotics.

José’s early professional experience includes implementing new solutions based on VoIP at the largest Telco provider in Mexico. Josè now has significant experience developing novel technologies for the railway industry, and is currently leading the research and design of key algorithms for the DSRT’s railway solutions. José also collaborates with the hardware team on the physical-layer design of sensor technologies.

He has experience in the implementation of quality, safety and software development standards.

His hands on experience in the analysis and creation of patent material, as well as the patenting process, is critical to the Intangible Property portfolio of DSRT.
